Fees & charges

What “no win, no fee” actually means, what you pay if your claim succeeds, and how to claim for free without using us.

Who you are dealing with

Get My Claim is an introducer. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice or run your claim. If you qualify, we refer you to an independent, regulated law firm, and that firm takes on your case and enters into its own agreement with you.

The law firm — not Get My Claim — is responsible for the legal work and for the fee charged on a successful claim.

What “no win, no fee” means

“No win, no fee” describes the agreement between you and the solicitor, not an arrangement with Get My Claim. We never charge you anything, whether your claim succeeds or not.

  • Nothing to pay upfront. You are not asked for any money to start a claim.
  • Nothing to pay to Get My Claim. We do not charge you a fee. We are paid a referral fee by the law firm we introduce you to. That is paid by them, out of their own fee — it is not added on top of what you pay.
  • If your claim succeeds, the law firm charges a success fee, which is deducted from your compensation before it reaches you. You receive the balance.
  • If your claim does not succeed, you do not pay a success fee.

The exact fee you will pay

The success fee is set and charged by the solicitor handling your claim. Get My Claim does not set it, does not collect it and takes no part of it from you. It is expressed as a percentage of your compensation and may have VAT added.

The exact percentage, how it is calculated and any other charges are set out in full in the agreement the law firm sends you. You will always see this before you are asked to sign anything, and you are under no obligation to proceed. Please read it carefully — if anything is unclear, ask the firm before you sign.

Cancelling

You have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the date you sign, during which you can cancel without charge.

If you cancel after that period, the law firm may charge you for work already carried out on your claim. The cancellation terms and any such charges are set out in the agreement you sign with the firm.

No guarantee of outcome

Nobody can guarantee that a claim will succeed, how much compensation you might receive, or how long it will take. Any figures shown elsewhere on this site are examples or averages and are not a promise of what you personally will receive.
